![]() Through Our Eyes Education Salon SeriesOver the past four years, Through Our Eyes has developed an experienced team of Teaching Artists with a passion to instruct teens about creativity. The TOE Education Salon series creates a platform for TOE Teaching Artists and frontline educators to share ideas and experiences. During the event, our Teaching Artists download the teaching tools designed by TOE for Hong Kong youth, and share the creative work of past participants. The first Education Salon-cum-Through Our Eyes My Light book launch, held on May 24 2009, attracted many educators. Workshops with specific themes are scheduled to take place in October and November 2009.

Through Our Eyes x AiRInternational Exchange, Local Reconstruction Collaborating with AiR Association's Hong Kong International Artists' Workshop 2008, a Foundation funded programme, two visiting artists shared their work and artistic experiences with over 40 Through Our Eyes students and veterans. They were India’s Abhinandita Mathur, an Indian photo-journalist with a strong interest in social issues,” and Michelle Brand, a British eco designer. Guided by Through Our Eyes teaching artists John Fung, Venus Lo and Wong Suk Ki, participants explored their own communities through lenses, capturing cluttered markets and forgotten corners. Through photo montage and working with found objects, students deconstructed and reconstructed their journey through the communities with heightened awareness and creative responses.
