IBFF 2009 LONDON offered 46 titles from 18 nations, with over 20 UK premieres: dramatic features, comedies, documentaries and shorts. The Opening Night Gala Event was a rare screening of the 1925 Indian silent classic
The Light of Asia, accompanied by a live performance of an original score. Other films featured Leonard Cohen, Meredith Monk, Bono, Matthieu Ricard, Johnny Depp, Philip Glass, Martin Scorsese, Sogyal Rinpoche and many others.
