Appoints Chief Executive Officer
The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation announced today the appointment of Helen Ng as its Chief Executive Officer. A seasoned arts administrator, Ms. Ng will be responsible in consolidating the role of the Foundation in the promotion of Chinese arts and culture as well as Buddhist philosophy in Hong Kong, China and the rest of the world.
The Foundation, founded in 2005, aims for professional management. It has an international team of board of directors that consist of family and non-family members based in different parts of the world.
“The Foundation headquarters will always be in Hong Kong,” Mr. Robert Ho, chairman of the Foundation said, “and will continue to employ experts and consultants locally to support the undertaking of its projects.”
Ms. Ng’s career serving the arts community has spanned three decades and her contribution was reflected by three commendations and a Thirty Years’ Meritorious Service Award. “Giving back to the society through the arts is very meaningful. I am pleased that my experience in the arts contributes to the Foundation’s philanthropic work, which is a welcome challenge for me” said Ms. Ng.
As a professional arts administrator with solid and well-rounded experience, Ms. Ng undertook different positions in various organizations, including the Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and the Hong Kong Ballet. In recognition of her contribution to arts administration in Hong Kong and the development of the Hong Kong Ballet, where she served as CEO from 1999 to 2007, Ms. Ng was awarded the Medal of Honor by the HKSAR Government.
Ms. Ng will work closely with a board of nine directors. In addition to six family members, there are three non-family directors serving the board including Dr. Rebecca S. Chopp, President of Colgate University, New York; Mr. James Hughes, U. S. lawyer from Aspen, Colorado; and Mr. Rick White, President of Minot Capital, a financial consultancy firm in Boulder, Colorado. These professionals contribute sound advice on higher education, law and asset management. The synergy generated from the versatile expertise and talent of all nine directors will strategically shape the Foundation’s future.
